Have you ever been to a giant chocolate factory? Well, if you read the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl, it tells about a very poor kid that has to walk by Mr. Wonka's famous chocolate factory every day to go to school. Charlie is a very poor kid with his four grandparents and his two parents. His grandparents are very old and have to stay in bed. On Charlie's birthday, Charlie gets a chocolate bar and in it he gets a golden ticket. From the golden ticket, Charlie gets to take a tour of Mr. Wonka's factory. There are four other people that get to go with him. While they are taking a tour, a few of them disobey the rules. Mr. Wonka has a competition for the kids. Only one kid can win an exciting prize. Who will that kid be?
I thought this book was exciting and happy. I am really glad for Charlie because Charlie had something good happen to his life. My favorite part of the book is when Charlie gets the golden ticket in the chocolate bar. I felt so bad for Charlie because he was so poor. I started thinking, "What if Mr. Wonka's candy really can be made." I liked the book because of all the things that Mr. Wonka made. I thought the Oompa Loompas were interesting because they are small and funny. It is really cool because they sing a lot.
If you like chocolate factories and little people, you might want to read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I think Roald Dahl has a great writing style and a great imagination.
