Melvin Beederman Superhero the Revenge of the McNasty Brothers

When you think of your normal super hero, Melvin Beederman is not the first one that comes into your head. In the beginning, you will find Melvin in his treehouse crunching pretzels and slurping root beer while watching his favorite cartoon, The Adventures of Thunderman. Then he hears a squeaking noise behind the TV. Is it the McNastys? Melvin gets ready to fight. He pulls back the TV and his mouth drops open. He mutters Rrrrraat. Later he decides to name the rat Hugo and he keeps him as a pet. After, he gets an email from his partner, Candace to meet her at the library. Later the two crime-fighting super hero partners are hovering over the city of Los Angeles when four mysterious people catch Candace. Melvin has to go save her, but gets caught as well. Do Melvin and Candace escape? Read the book to find out.

Melvin Beederman is a hysterical book. The illustrations are hilarious. For example, one shows Candace, his side kick, beating up a bunch of bullies. My favorite character is Melvin’s pet rat Hugo because Melvin can only speak gerbil so when he says something to the rat, the rat doesn’t understand. My favorite part is when Candace can’t talk the right super hero lingo. After helping someone she says, “No prob, Lady.” She should have said, “Just doing our job, ma’am.”

I recommend this book to people who like super hero stories and action. I think they would get a kick out of it because Melvin is always getting himself into trouble.
